Monk throw skill

[:1]What do you guys think about the monk having some kind of judo/karate throw or something along the lines of that? I no it would be hard to do without slowing the action in the game down, but i thought it would be very cool!|||If you're talking about a Judo throw, as in a hip throw towards the ground or something like that, yeah, it would take too much time. Why would one want to throw someone down on the ground, even if it was a hard throw, when they could just explode their heart with a handstrike, etc.

However, if it's throwing weapons:

I would say that the Barb and DH have throwing covered. And I can't see Monks using anything like star shuriken or shaken, because they're just too small and un-flashy. I could see something like Divine Bo Shuriken, where the artists could create some flashy effects with light. There could also be some some pretty cool rune effects.|||I was thinking that it would be cool for the monk to have a ranged attack like this. I am not sure what it is called, but I have seen movies and videos of people using ropes/chains with a weight on the end is a very deadly way.

Think about that young asian chick in the first Kill Bill who uses the ball that uma therman fights after she ****s up the crazy 88

not sure what kind of changes runes would make, but for some reason a weighted ball/whatever on the end of a rope seems to just fit this class|||Quote:

The Witchdoctor has a blow gun which I think is absolutely horrendous- but it's there.|||A weapon type of skill would be sweet i just do not want to see another skill that the monk uses his hands.|||Quote:

Right, but is the WD a melee class? When you compare the rest of the Monk's finishing moves with something like Poison Dart, there's an obvious difference. Poison Dart adheres to the idea behind the WD - he/she isn't meant to be overly flashy and powerful, unlike that of the Monk where the skills are in-your-face, direct, powerful, and riddled with "divine light" and martial arts-based strikes.

As far as weapons go, I could see some type of holy projectiles. Nothing beyond that, though. Anything along the lines of a chain or hook, when presented at the resolution from 31ft. in the air at an isometric view angle, looks too much like a whip, and whips are pathetic. The Barbarian has the grappling Ancient Spear, and that works well enough to not seem ugly, but as far as swinging one around goes... I'd much rather be using fist weapons at that point.|||Quote:

that's why i'd love to see him fighting with a pair of nunchucks ,but unfortunatelly i doubt blizzard will implement it|||Throws are part of almost all martial arts, so it would fit IMHO. Why he'd want to use it, and how much work it would be to try to model it and animate it, I dunno. I guess it would be kind of a knock back attack, with perhaps more range; he could hurl monsters some distance, using them as projectiles, sort of how the Punching Giant Bells rune skill works now.

The in-game logic of this might be suspect; obviously it wouldn't work on like, Siegebreaker, and lots of monsters are covered in spikes and quills and sharp things that would make this a very bad idea in reality. Is that a dissuading factor for spell design in the game, though? Maybe not.|||Could be a combo move

- Step 1 : grab the monster

- Step 2 : throw it

- Step 3 : |||It would fit totally...

If Blizz is truly intending to make the monk rather Fighting game inspired, then he does need throw skills. Throw skills most of times become a life-saver when you start getting weak, so it would be useful to the Monk.

I too would see it as a combo move; but more as a finisher...

OR, after throwing the mob the Monk makes a Liu Kang like flying kick or a Flying stomp like some Tekken characters
