Base Melee Dmg or Crit Strike Damage? - Page 6

[:1]Read the edit.

Unless they state that it'll be different, there's no reason to assume it changes. It adds in unknowns when we already know how it works.

We don't know additions (different elements now have effects, etc), but we do know how crits work.|||Sass if it fixed then why have it on Character screen?|||To display it?|||Quote:

Read the edit now, sorry.

Yes I agree that if the CS damage was other than 37% then there would be a more compelling argument for CS changing.

I was only confused due to the listing of CS% chance and CS% damage due to redundancy.

I can see a need for both of these if CS is indeed 100% extra damage and skills or items can improve CS above 100% extra damage. |||It does seem odd, but since we don't know all mods on items (I assume this char screen goes by them as well), there might be a way to alter crit's damage boost.

I suspect skill runes (the damage one especially), or dex based (crit) gems / item stats.|||The skills effects shouldn't be factored in unless it a trait, the Char Screen should always will showe the base stats for your char with items & passives included.

This is clear as Dex says 5.7% crit chance and offensive shows its 37% so the barb is getting 31.3% crit from items/passives.|||Quote:

Have a look at the barbarians and monk traits - several of them increase his critical strike damage|||Ah, I figured as much.

The Critical hits page on the wiki lists some, but it looks out dated due to the trees. It's something like 3 and 5%, so probably not ground breaking.

Still, every bit's gotta help right?
