I'm not quite sure what certain abilities really entail (edit: I mean the text in french), some are ambiguous (again...). I tried to make it more readable this time. Enjoy! |||Hm, these are just even more boring than the WD. I guess work in progress is a work in progress. Nice to see that they are definitely NOT neglecting non-Monk specific weapons.|||Yeah, these need polish. I know procs aren't the world's most interesting mechanic, but they're definitely more interesting than straight passives. I'd hope the final traits for the classes will be a 60/40 ratio of procs or weird stuff (death pact) to straight damage/health/etc passives.|||This is pretty awesome. You can boost so many different things. I like Intimidate in particular.|||Monks are gonna have Crazy Criticals :P|||thanks alot zediono. would judgehype pleeeeease release "la liste des comptences et traits du sorcier".... i'm willing to translate it myself! |||hum it seems they have made changes to the attributes themselves in the wiki dexterity has no ability to influence melee damage at all.

Here are the information we know about the attrivbutes from the diablo 3 wiki:

Strength

Strength governs how much damage you do and how high your armor rating is. Whether the effect of each point in Strength on the secondary attributes is the same for every character class is unclear as of yet.

1 point of Strength gives:

+x% Melee and Ranged Physical Damage Bonus

x% Armor Bonus

+x% Block Amount

Dexterity

Dexterity governs your chance to critically strike a target, and so doing more damage. Dexterity influences your chance to dodge an attack and lowers the chance that your character will be interrupted by getting hit.

1 point of Dexterity gives:

+x% Critical Strike Chance

+x% Dodge Chance

Higher Dexterity lowers chance you will be interrupted by getting hit.

Vitality

Vitality governs the amount of life your character has and how fast its mana regenerates.

1 point of Vitality gives:

+x Life

Mana Regeneration of +x per second

Willpower

Willpower governs the amount of spell damage bonus and extra health the consumption that a health globe will grant your character.

1 point of Willpower gives:

+x% Spell Damage Bonus

+x% Health Globe Bonus

if so its strange the demo players at blizzcon has reported nothing at all about this change....|||Quote:

What was it before?|||Interesting. MiniMonk wonders if vendors are actually going to useful enough to encourage people to get Intimidate(besides the extra damage it provides.)

And with lone_wolf giving what each attributes increases, as well as the Monk primary(aka strongest) attribute will most likely be dex. It looks like people will pick Precision, Superior Skill, Cruelty, Weak Spot, Intimidate, Frenzied Attacks(with seems redundant as we already have Cruelty and Weak Spot), and maybe Thunderous Blows or Die by the Sword to increase crit and crit damage as much as they can. Added with Rapid Strikes to increase how often you hit which indirectly increases how often you crit. They might get Sixth Sense as well to increase dodge as dex is governs that as well.

True Spirit is going to be a must have. MM just wonders how much of an increase it will provide.

He also wonders if Fleet is going to be viable. It this going to be the Monks movement option? Since all other characters have a movement skill(Teleport, Spirit Walk, Leap, and Vault.) Or will the Monk eventually get one as well?|||I'm really glad they separated traits and active skills in general - I never liked choosing between the two. I hope we still see some more flavorful traits like the ones that were in a much older version as passive skills, eg.

( from http://www.diablowiki.net/Wizard_skill_archive)

"Enemies damaged by your lightning spells discharge additional lightning damage to nearby enemies for 3 seconds. "

"Increases the images from your mirror image skill and Hydras from your Hydra skill by 1. "

IE the sort of things like that make highly focused character builds more interesting. They're doing that a little here (ie "Superior Skill" would make you want more +dex items), but nothing quite as fun as the above just yet.
