I was thinking about Blizzard mentioning that Monks will be using combo moves, so what do you think they might be doing to his/her skills? Combo counters definitely isn't viable since monsters don't respawn non-stop in the same map.
I'm thinking about having to use certain skills to unlock different moves. This is to prevent the Monk from spamming certain skills. Imagine spamming seven-siden strike...
Primary -> Secondary -> Advance -> Ultimate -> Chance to unlock secret move?
Example:
Normal attack -> Crippling Wave (success) -> Seven-Sided Strike (Success) -> ????
Normal attack -> Exploding Palm (success) -> Way of the Hundred Fist (Success) -> ????|||Hmn... The secret move thing is interesting... Like when you play Megaman X in japanese (xD) and discover soma armors can charge up the skills...
Now on to reality... It would force some people to use just some few combinations(those that do the amazing secret moves) ... Not that it's a bad thing, but it can kill customization a bit...|||While watching Naruto a certain something hit me.
It's the Hyuuga Clan and their Byakugan. Wouldn't it be cool if the monk class has something similar to it?
I'm assuming the game will get darker and creepier so I think having a skill similar to Byakugan in the game will be extremely useful. Upon casting it the monk eyes will glow and "the veins near their temples bulge". The effects will be as described below:
First it can be similar to the Diablo's spell "Infravision", which allows the caster to see all the monsters within the screen and even behind closed doors. All enemies in vicinity will glow and be surrounded with a distinct nimbus of white light. What the player will also see is an overall increase in light radius.
Second, it allows the user to see if the enemy's weaknesses (applying modifiers like -def etc etc, up to Blizzard) and the difficulty of the monsters. The brighter the aura of light, the stronger it is.
Last it will increase the damage of the user, since you'll be able to see the "energies" flowing in the enemy. On how, again that will be up to Blizzard to decide
The cons for using the skill, it will drain the mana or whatever the monk will be getting. It will not work in places with reflective surfaces, whereby it will be disrupted, due to the nature of the skill. It must also be a high level skill.
What do you guys think?
Side note: The techniques associated with Byakugan, they are definitely interesting inspirations for the monk class!
